Trump Demands Fox News Remove 'Real Loser' Host Jessica Tarlov in Latest Attack on Female Journalists

President Donald Trump has launched a fresh attack on female journalists, demanding that Fox News remove host Jessica Tarlov from the airwaves and branding her a "real loser" in a furious Truth Social post. The former president also took aim at Fox News Sunday anchor Shannon Bream in his latest broadside against media figures.

Scathing Criticism of Jessica Tarlov

In a post directed specifically at Fox executives, Trump wrote: "For Fox executives only, take Jessica Tarlov off the air. She is, from her voice, to her lies, and everything else about her, one of the worst 'personalities' on television, a real loser! People cannot stand watching her."

Tarlov, who serves as co-host of the network's popular programme The Five, has been a frequent target of Trump's criticism. This marks his most direct demand for her removal from the network's lineup to date.

Additional Attacks on Shannon Bream

The president didn't stop with Tarlov, also turning his attention to veteran anchor Shannon Bream. Trump criticised Bream's coverage of the SAVE America Act, formally known as the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, which includes proposals to tighten voter registration requirements in federal elections.

"Tell Shannon Bream of FoxNews that it's not the Save Act, it's the Save America Act, a big difference," Trump wrote. He went on to accuse Bream of failing to "correct" Democratic Representative Jake Auchincloss when the lawmaker criticised Trump's dealings with China and his handling of ongoing conflicts with Iran during an interview.

Pattern of Criticism Against Female Journalists

This latest outburst continues a pattern of personal attacks Trump has made against female journalists throughout his political career. During his second presidency, he has repeatedly made derogatory comments about women in media, including referring to one reporter as "piggy" and describing others as "rotten," "stupid," and "ugly, both inside and out."

In February, Trump targeted CNN journalist Kaitlan Collins, calling her "the worst reporter" and claiming: "I don't think I've ever seen you smile. I've known you for 10 years. I don't think I've ever seen a smile on your face."

Previous Conflicts with Tarlov and Bream

Trump's history with both journalists extends beyond this latest incident. On March 26, he called into The Five and stated he was "not a fan" of Tarlov, who was absent that day. During the call, he accused her of using "fake numbers" regarding his polling figures, though he curiously added: "I'm sure I'd like her. I'm sure she's a lovely person."

In 2024, Trump accused Bream of being "naive" in a Truth Social post following her interview with his attorney. In a subsequent post, he claimed Bream was "anti-MAGA," referencing his Make America Great Again political movement.

Context of the Attacks

The attacks come amid Trump's ongoing criticism of media coverage he perceives as unfavourable. His targeting of Fox News personalities is particularly notable given the network's generally supportive stance toward his administration and policies.

Trump's comments about Bream's interview with Representative Auchincloss focused on what he viewed as insufficient pushback against Democratic criticism of his foreign policy, particularly regarding China and Iran. The president defended his record, writing: "I always close deals, unlike the Dems, and did great with China in every way, also, unlike the Dems."

As of publication, neither Fox News nor the journalists targeted in Trump's posts have issued public responses to his latest criticisms. The incident highlights the ongoing tension between the former president and media figures, particularly women in journalism who cover his administration and campaigns.
