A chocolate bar handed out at the Conservative Party conference in Manchester has been ridiculed after it misspelled 'Britain' as 'Britian'. The confectionery, wrapped in blue, featured a slogan attributed to party leader Kemi Badenoch: 'When Labour negotiates, Britian loses'.
The chocolate was included in goodie bags at the event, which also contained a mock CV of Rachel Reeves and a copy of Reform UK's manifesto. Organisers have since removed the chocolate bars, blaming a 'printing error'.
The blunder was met with mockery on social media, with one user quipping: 'I’m hearing Wispas about Kemi’s leadership.' The incident comes as Badenoch attempts to revive the party's low poll ratings, having delivered a speech on Sunday and scheduled another for Wednesday.
Spelling errors are not unique to the Tories. Earlier this year, Scottish Labour misspelled 'Scottish' as 'Scotish' in campaign leaflets for a byelection. In 2024, Reform UK MP Lee Anderson was referred to as 'Lee Andersin' in his own campaign leaflets, a mistake he appeared unaware of when posting a video of himself distributing them.
