Man Stunned by Wenzel's £5 Hot Food Bag on Too Good To Go

A man was left astonished after collecting a hot food bag from the popular bakery chain Wenzel's, particularly struck by the sheer quantity of items inside. He purchased the bag for £4.75 through the Too Good To Go app, a platform that connects customers with surplus food from restaurants and cafes at heavily discounted prices.

Too Good To Go: Fighting Food Waste

Too Good To Go describes itself as a social impact company on a mission to inspire and empower everyone to fight food waste together. The app is marketed as the world's largest marketplace for surplus food, allowing users to rescue good food from going to waste while enjoying great value for money at local stores, cafes, and restaurants. Participating venues typically offer products at 50-75 per cent less than the original value, with customers receiving surprise bags filled with a variety of items.

Bryce's Wenzel's Adventure

TikTok content creator Bryce, who posts under the username Bryce's Adventure, has been sampling various food venues via the discount app and documenting his experiences. Recently, he tried a hot food bag from Wenzel's, a London-born family bakery that opened its first venue in 1975 and now boasts over 100 locations. Upon arriving at the shop, Bryce filmed a staff member who told him she wasn't ready yet, so he had to wait a few minutes. When he received his bag, he immediately noted how heavy it was and eagerly anticipated the contents.

Once home, Bryce filmed himself unpacking each item and taking a bite to sample the mystery goodies. The main bag contained several smaller bags, each holding at least one baked product. He began with a cheese and onion bake, describing it as very onion-y. Next, he discovered two bakes in one bag, which turned out to be steak bakes, his favourite flavour. Another bag held two items that looked like Jamaican patties, which he confirmed after tasting, noting they were a little bit spicy.

As he continued unpacking, Bryce expressed disbelief at the amount of food. He found another cheese and onion bake, another patty, and a vegan sausage roll. The final bag contained two more bakes, which he couldn't identify and called mystery bakes. He concluded that while there was a lot of food, it lacked variety, and asked his followers if the bag was worth £4.75.

Reactions from TikTok Users

In the comments section, fellow TikTok users shared their thoughts. One person said the bag was absolutely worth £4.75 and praised the well-filled bakes. Another agreed that it was a lot of food and worth the price. A third commented that the staff member hooked him up, while a fourth simply called it amazing.
