Venezuela Fury, the 16-year-old daughter of boxing champion Tyson Fury, married Noah Price over the weekend in a ceremony that has sparked widespread debate. The wedding took place at the Victorian Royal Chapel of St John's on the Isle of Man, where the bride wore an Italian lace gown with a 50-foot train and white Crocs. The couple, who got engaged last year during Venezuela's birthday celebrations, are now expected to move into a static caravan, following the same path her parents took early in their relationship.
The wedding has raised questions because the legal marriage age in England and Wales was raised to 18 in February 2023, abolishing the option for 16 and 17-year-olds to marry even with parental consent. However, the Isle of Man, where the Fury family relocated earlier this year due to security concerns, allows marriage at 16 with parental consent. This legal loophole has prompted criticism, but the family has defended their decision.
Paris Fury, Venezuela's mother, appeared on ITV's This Morning to explain their support. She stated, 'Venezuela is so mature for her years. She's done so much in such a short time... I can't deny her because I was 17 when I got engaged. She's obviously following in my footsteps, so how can I judge her in any way.' The couple's wedding is reportedly being filmed for their Netflix series, At Home with the Furys.
The reception featured a performance by 1990s pop star Peter Andre, who sang hits including 'Mysterious Girl.' However, the event took an unexpected turn when four police cars arrived at the Comis Hotel near Douglas. The reason for their attendance has not been disclosed. Venezuela had earlier shared her footwear dilemma with fans, choosing white Crocs over trainers for comfort.
