Nul Points! UK Eurovision Act Finishes Last in Vienna

The United Kingdom's Eurovision entry, Look Mum No Computer, finished rock bottom of the scoreboard in Saturday night's contest in Vienna, continuing the nation's run of disastrous results. The act, which failed to impress voters, has sparked the usual geopolitical conspiracy theories and calls for a rethink ahead of next year's competition.

This latest flop adds to a chastening week for Britons in Vienna, with Boy George also failing to qualify for the final while representing San Marino. The UK has not won the Eurovision Song Contest for almost three decades, and this year's result has been described as one of the worst in the country's history.

Look Mum No Computer joins a long list of British Eurovision failures, including Andy Abraham, who finished last in 2008 with only 14 points, and James Newman, who received nul points in 2021. Other notable flops include Scooch, who came second from last in 2007 with their camp performance of 'Flying the Flag (For You)', and Electro Velvet, who scored a measly five points in 2015.

The UK's worst-ever result remains the nul points awarded to Jemini in 2003, but this year's entry has been widely panned by critics and fans alike. As the nation licks its wounds, attention turns to how the UK can improve its fortunes in future contests.
