A new image of the primary firearm used by the suspect in the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner incident has been released for the first time. The weapon, a large black shotgun identified as a Mossberg Maverick 12-gauge, was allegedly carried by 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen as he ran past US Secret Service agents.
Details of the Incident
The suspect was apprehended just yards away from the dinner venue, where President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, First Lady Melania Trump, and most of the Cabinet were dining on Saturday evening. Allen was allegedly brandishing the shotgun when he rushed toward security at the Washington Hilton gala.
New Images Released
Alongside the weapon photo, authorities released a new image of Allen showing him shirtless and wrapped in a foil blanket shortly after being subdued by law enforcement. The suspect is now in custody, and the investigation continues.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
