Human remains discovered near a bridge in the Tampa Bay area have been confirmed to be those of Nahida Bristy, the second missing University of South Florida doctoral student, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. Bristy and her friend Zamil Limon, both 27, were last seen on April 16. Limon's body was recovered from the Howard Frankland Bridge on April 24.
Roommate Charged
Limon's roommate, Hisham Abugharbieh, was arrested shortly after and charged with two counts of first-degree premeditated murder with a weapon in connection with the deaths of both Limon and Bristy. The case has drawn attention to the safety of students in the area.
Investigation Ongoing
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the disappearances and murders. Sheriff Chronister expressed condolences to the families and emphasized the commitment to seeking justice. The remains were found on Sunday, and forensic analysis led to the positive identification on Friday.
