Jake Paul's highly anticipated boxing match against Mike Tyson has been rescheduled for November 15, with the venue remaining the AT&T Stadium in Texas. The fight was originally set for July 20 but was postponed after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up, rendering him medically unfit to compete.
Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions, confirmed the new date, stating that the team worked diligently to ensure both fighters have equal training time and to keep the event at AT&T Stadium amid the Cowboys season. He described the bout as 'the most cross generational sporting event in history'.
Tyson, 57, expressed gratitude to medical staff and promoters, vowing to resume training shortly. He reiterated his prediction that he would knock out Paul, regardless of the date. The former heavyweight champion last fought professionally in 2005, though he participated in an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr in 2020.
Paul, with a professional record of 9-1, last defeated Ryan Bourland in March. The fight will consist of eight two-minute rounds, and Tyson must pass brain and heart scans to be eligible. Paul has faced criticism for fighting an opponent past his prime but backed Tyson as his toughest challenger yet.
The undercard features a rematch between women's boxing pioneer Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, as well as a bout between former UFC star Darren Till and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Up to 80,000 fans are expected to attend the event, which will be streamed live globally on Netflix.
