Mick Jagger’s former sub-penthouse in Marylebone, where he lived and partied with then-girlfriend Marianne Faithfull, is on the market for £5.5 million. The Rolling Stones frontman rented the property between 1966 and 1968, a period that saw the band’s meteoric rise to fame with hits like “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” and “Get Off of My Cloud”.
The Edwardian mansion, built in 1903, spans 2,495 square feet and features four bedrooms, high ceilings up to 3.12 metres, French windows, parquet flooring, and a freestanding bathtub. Jagger chose the location partly for its proximity to exclusive medical centres, where he reportedly sought treatment for the after-effects of his partying lifestyle.
During his stay, the flat was a hub for rock ‘n’ roll excess. Keith Richards would often crash there for days, and notable guests included Princess Margaret. The band released iconic albums such as “Aftermath” and singles like “Paint It Black” and “Ruby Tuesday” while Jagger resided there. He left in January 1968 after purchasing a property in Belgravia.
Now on sale for the first time in 30 years, the penthouse has been redecorated but retains its original charm. “We anticipate the listing will attract significant interest from discerning buyers and fans of The Rolling Stones from around the world,” said Jeremy Gee, managing director of Beauchamp Estates, which is jointly handling the sale with Prime.
