Jack Wilshere Fined £40,000 for Arsenal Parade Chants

Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere was fined £40,000 and given a warning by the Football Association for leading offensive chants about Tottenham Hotspur during the club's 2015 FA Cup victory parade. The incident occurred as the Gunners celebrated their second consecutive FA Cup triumph, with over 500,000 fans lining the streets of Islington.

Wilshere, then 23, grabbed a microphone and asked the crowd: "What do we think of Tottenham?" before joining in with chants that included expletives about their north London rivals. The FA deemed his conduct "improper and bringing the game into disrepute."

Arsenal apologised during their in-house media coverage, and Wilshere later issued a public apology on social media, stating: "Apologies if I upset or offended any of u with my celebrations." The fine was one of the largest handed out for such an offence at the time.

The 2015 parade was Arsenal's last major open-top bus celebration until Sunday, when the club marked their first Premier League title in 19 years. This year's event, led by captain Martin Odegaard, passed without controversy.
