Harry Redknapp Calls I'm A Celeb Final a 'Nightmare', Defends David Haye
Harry Redknapp: I'm A Celeb Final Was a 'Nightmare'

Harry Redknapp has described the live final of I'm A Celebrity... South Africa as a 'nightmare', just three days after explosive scenes aired. The former footballer, 79, who won the original series in 2018 and returned for the all-stars edition, expressed shock at the chaos that unfolded on stage.

Final Descends into Chaos

During the live broadcast, boxer David Haye was accused of bullying Adam Thomas, claiming the actor was using his arthritis to avoid trials. Arguments erupted live on air, with stars like Gemma Collins and Sinitta storming off. Redknapp compared the scene to The Jeremy Kyle Show, saying: 'I thought I'd gone to the wrong show! I've never seen so much aggravation. It was a nightmare.'

Redknapp Defends Haye

Despite Haye's controversial comments about women, which horrified fellow campmates, Redknapp insisted it was just 'banter'. On TalkSport, he said: 'David was in good form. This wasn't strong banter compared to what you've had in dressing rooms. People couldn't take a bit of banter and it became a big issue.'

Adam Thomas Seeks Therapy

Adam Thomas, who won the series, revealed he has sought therapy due to the experience. He said: 'It's changed me. I'm in therapy now because it's messed with me mentally.' During his time in camp, he clashed with Jimmy Bullard, who accused him of being 'abusive, aggressive, and intimidating' during a trial. Bullard quit on the spot, though Ant and Dec defended Adam, with Ant stating he didn't find the behaviour intimidating.

The live final saw tensions boil over, with Redknapp summing it up: 'I thought, I'm not a celebrity... get me out of here!'
