US Lawmakers Demand Epstein Accountability Following UK Example
Congressman: US Must Face Epstein Consequences Like Andrew

Bipartisan Push for Epstein Justice Intensifies

American politicians are demanding that individuals connected to Jeffrey Epstein face consequences similar to those experienced by Britain's Prince Andrew, as pressure mounts for complete transparency regarding the disgraced financier's associates.

Republican Congressman Thomas Massie stood alongside survivors of Epstein's abuse during a powerful press conference outside the US Capitol on November 18, 2025, where he highlighted the contrasting approaches to accountability between the United States and United Kingdom.

"There's becoming a reckoning in Britain that needs to happen in the United States," Massie declared. "A prince lost his title, the ambassador to the United States lost his job. We need to see those same kind of consequences here."

Mounting Pressure for Full Disclosure

The Kentucky representative pointed specifically to the removal of Prince Andrew's royal titles by King Charles and the dismissal of Peter Mandelson as UK ambassador to Washington as examples of meaningful accountability that should be mirrored in American institutions.

Massie was joined by Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna of California, creating a rare bipartisan front in the push for justice. Both lawmakers serve on the House oversight committee investigating the government's handling of the Epstein case and have jointly championed legislation forcing the release of all justice department files concerning Epstein.

"We've seen tens of thousands of pages released by the oversight committee. What we've not seen is a single name," Massie revealed, emphasising the need for genuine transparency that would allow survivors to determine when true justice has been achieved.

Royal Testimony Demanded

The press conference occurred hours before the US House of Representatives was expected to pass the Epstein Files Transparency Act, legislation that would mandate the full disclosure of documents related to the scandal. This development followed Donald Trump and Republican allies abandoning their previous opposition amid continuing political pressure.

Congressman Khanna used the platform to renew calls for Prince Andrew to provide testimony before the oversight committee. "I do think that Prince Andrew does need to come and testify at our oversight committee, and that can be bipartisan," Khanna stated, while acknowledging shared concern about the urgency of justice.

The California representative had previously told the Guardian that the public deserves to know the identities of all individuals who participated in the abuse of women and girls alongside Epstein.

Recent document releases have revealed that Prince Andrew maintained contact with the convicted sex offender for longer than previously known, intensifying scrutiny of their relationship.

Growing Impatience with Silence

Fellow Democratic Congressman Suhas Subramanyam, also serving on the oversight committee, accused Prince Andrew of attempting to evade accountability through silence. "If he is hoping that the story will just go away by ignoring us and being silent, he will be sorely disappointed as we continue to pursue this over the next year and beyond," Subramanyam warned in comments to the Guardian.

Massie concluded his remarks with a powerful statement about the cultural shift needed in how society treats those implicated in serious crimes. "As my colleague Ro said, there shouldn't be buildings named after these perpetrators of these heinous crimes, there shouldn't be scholarships named after them, and there needs to be accounting."

The bipartisan effort represents one of the most significant pushes for accountability in the Epstein case since the financier's death, with American lawmakers clearly looking to Britain's response as both example and inspiration for their own pursuit of justice.
