BBC Under Pressure to Disclose Knowledge of Scott Mills Allegations

The BBC is facing mounting pressure to reveal what it knew about allegations surrounding presenter Scott Mills, following a blog post from 2011 that has resurfaced. The post, titled 'Gay people treated like "dirty minority" in Uganda', was published on the BBC Three blog and featured comments from viewers reacting to Mills' documentary on homophobia in Uganda.

The blog, which includes a comment from Mills himself, has drawn attention due to the nature of some responses. One commenter wrote: 'Scott - you are a good man and what you have been doing in Uganda is very important.' Another said: 'So glad Scott you've have bought this to the attention of people here in the UK!' The post also features a comment from a user who described Ugandans and their religions as 'primitive'.

The resurfaced blog has led to questions about whether the BBC was aware of any inappropriate behaviour by Mills at the time. The broadcaster has not yet commented on the specific allegations, but a spokesperson said: 'We take all matters of conduct seriously and are reviewing the situation.'

The documentary, titled 'The World's Worst Place To Be Gay', saw Mills travel to Uganda to investigate the treatment of LGBT individuals. In the blog, one viewer suggested that footage from the programme should be shown to the International Criminal Court, adding: 'It is ridiculous!'

The BBC has faced criticism in the past for its handling of allegations against presenters. The corporation has said it will provide further information in due course.
