Adam Thomas has returned to work on the set of BBC's Waterloo Road, days after claiming he was 'bullied' and 'exploited' during his stint on ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! All Stars. The actor, who won the series, has sparked fears that he and his brothers, Scott and Ryan, could be blacklisted by ITV following their public criticism of the show.
Thomas, 37, took to Instagram to show fans he was back filming as Donte Charles in the BBC drama, a role he has played on and off for over 15 years. The update comes after an emotional week in which he described his All Stars experience as 'toxic' on his podcast, At Home With The Thomas Bros.
The winner claimed he felt 'exploited' during the live final and said the show had been 'tarnished' for him. He stated he would never watch the programme with his children again. Thomas also alleged he had no control over the edit and felt blamed for events that were not his doing.
Industry insiders suggest the relationship between the Thomas brothers and ITV is at breaking point. Adam has not appeared on any ITV shows to discuss his win, which is unusual for a winner who typically undertakes further media duties for the channel.
Despite the potential fallout, Thomas is financially secure. He has built a successful property career with Kamani Property Group and runs A&C Thomas Entertainment with his wife, which manages his media income. The company has shown strong financial performance, allowing the couple to draw salaries and dividends.
