Ronan Keating Launches Scholarship to Support Aspiring Music Professionals

Ronan Keating, the Irish singer who rose to fame as a member of Boyzone and later as a solo artist, has announced a fully-funded Master's scholarship aimed at supporting the next generation of music professionals. The scholarship, named The Ronan Keating Scholarship, is offered in partnership with WaterBear – The College of Music.

The scholarship will cover full tuition fees for a one-year Master's degree, which typically range from £4,575 to £14,500 in the UK. Courses available include Songwriting, Music Business, Education, and Music Performance, Production & Business, and can be studied in person at WaterBear's campuses in Sheffield or Brighton, or online.

Keating, 49, has sold over 20 million records as a solo artist and 25 million with Boyzone. He said: "This scholarship is very much for those of you who've put quite a few years into your music career and know what you want. I want to help you progress to the next level. Having a career in music is not just about getting your foot in the door; it's about longevity."

Eve Massaad, Chief Marketing Officer at WaterBear, added: "This scholarship is about removing barriers and giving someone with real talent and ambition the opportunity to develop both creatively and professionally."

Applications are open until June 30, and the successful candidate will be announced on August 7, with studies commencing for the 2026 to 2027 academic year.
