Chaotic Teen Party at Texas Airbnb Mansion Results in Extensive Damage and Police Response

Roughly 800 teenagers and young adults descended upon a luxurious $4.8 million Texas mansion, transforming it into a scene of utter chaos during a wild party that escalated dramatically when gunshots were fired. The incident, which occurred on March 21 in Celina, Texas, required a significant police intervention after multiple emergency calls reported armed individuals and threats of violence.

Police Respond to Shots Fired and Armed Threats

Celina Police Chief John Cullison detailed the alarming situation to Fox 4, explaining that officers received several 911 calls concerning shots fired and armed men threatening to kill someone at the property. "We started getting the 911 calls with the shots fired. We also got a call that there were 10 men at the front gate, and they had guns, and they were threatening to kill someone," Chief Cullison stated. "So, this of course amped our officers up just a bit to make sure we go inside and keep everybody safe. But it wasn't until they went inside and they actually realized how vast this party was."

The party, which had been advertised online, attracted attendees ranging from 15 to 25 years old, with estimates placing the crowd between 500 and 800 individuals. Bodycam footage captured the moment teens fled as police arrived, though fortunately, no injuries were reported from the event.

Extensive Property Damage and Owner's Shock

Videos from inside the mansion revealed fights, partiers dancing on countertops, and overall pandemonium. Property owner Kishore Karlapudi expressed his disbelief, noting that the booking was made under false pretenses. "Somebody booked it, saying they needed the property for a party of seven people," Karlapudi told Fox. The reality was far different, with the massive Airbnb becoming the epicenter of a destructive gathering.

Karlapudi shared photos showcasing the aftermath, including a broken granite countertop in the kitchen island—likely damaged by people dancing on it—as well as shattered fixtures, removed mirrors and paintings, and debris scattered throughout the property. "We were totally shocked, and they damaged the property, you know. They took all the furniture out of the living space, and they put it in the garage," he lamented.

The mansion, built in 1996 and situated on 18.3 acres, is valued at approximately $4.84 million according to online estimates, making the damage particularly costly.

Arrests and Broader Context of Short-Term Rental Incidents

During the police response, officers arrested a minor for a suspected DUI and another individual who had an active warrant. This incident adds to a troubling trend, as the Texas Neighborhood Coalition reports 587 shootings at short-term rentals nationwide since 2019.

Footage from the party has drawn comparisons to the 2012 film Project X, which depicts a high school gathering spiraling out of control. Chief Cullison emphasized the ongoing investigation and issued a stern warning to parents. "As both your Chief of Police and a parent, I strongly encourage parents in our community to use this incident as a catalyst for having open and direct conversations with their sons and daughters about personal responsibility, wise decision making, and the dangers that can quickly intensify in such environments."

The Daily Mail has reached out to the Celina Police Department and Airbnb for further comment on the incident.
