A Russian drone attack on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro has resulted in the deaths of three people and left 10 others injured, among them two children. The strike partially destroyed an apartment building and sparked fires that damaged an administrative building, vehicles, and a local shop.
Details of the attack
Mykola Lukashuk, head of the Dnipropetrovsk region council, reported that the drones targeted a residential area while residents were asleep. Regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha confirmed the death toll and stated that four individuals, including the two injured girls aged 9 and 14, are receiving hospital treatment.
Damage and response
Officials released photographs illustrating the extensive damage to the apartment block, including a large hole in the structure and wrecked balconies. Emergency services responded to the scene to extinguish fires and search for additional casualties.
This attack comes amid ongoing hostilities in the region, with Ukrainian authorities repeatedly condemning such strikes on civilian infrastructure. The international community has been urged to increase support for Ukraine's air defense capabilities to prevent further loss of life.
