British Tourist Vanishes in Tenerife After Birthday Night Out
A British tourist celebrating his birthday in Tenerife has gone missing in a popular tourist area, sparking a search by local authorities and missing persons organisations. The holidaymaker, identified as Raif, was last seen leaving a nightclub in the early hours of Sunday, February 22, which coincided with his birthday.
Disappearance After Nightclub Exit
Raif was reported missing after failing to contact friends or family for over 24 hours, an unusual pattern for him according to sources. He was last observed leaving Tramps nightclub in Playa de las Americas, Tenerife, at approximately 6:30 am local time. Witnesses described him as being in good spirits at the time of his departure.
Following his exit from the nightclub, Raif updated his Snapchat story, showing him heading down Veronica's Strip, a well-known thoroughfare in the resort area. This social media activity provided the last public trace of his whereabouts.
Final Contact and Unknown Companion
Approximately 45 minutes after leaving the nightclub, around 7:15 am, Raif sent a private Snapchat message to a friend. The content of this message indicated he was inside a hotel, accompanied by an unknown male. This private communication has raised concerns among investigators, as it marks the final known contact from Raif.
Since that private message, there has been no further social media activity or communication from Raif, which friends and family have noted is highly out of character for him.
Description and Distinguishing Features
Raif is described as a 5ft 10 inches tall individual with a slim build. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a distinctive purple Nike T-shirt, matching purple shorts, and a purple cap. Notably, he has two small face tattoos, one on each cheekbone, with one of these tattoos being freshly applied on the day prior to his disappearance.
A spokesperson for Missing Persons Tenerife emphasised the urgency of the situation, stating: Sunday was Raif's birthday – he hasn't been in touch with anyone back home and there's been no social media activity which is highly unusual for him.

Local authorities and missing persons groups are actively investigating Raif's disappearance, focusing on the area around Veronica's Strip and nearby hotels. The case has drawn attention due to the mysterious circumstances surrounding his last known location with an unidentified companion.
