Tragic Death of Beauty Queen Eleisha Skinner in Freak Car Accident

A 21-year-old beauty queen, Eleisha Skinner, has died following a tragic and freak accident where her own parked car rolled backwards, crushing her against a wall outside her university accommodation. The incident occurred at Buckinghamshire New University in High Wycombe, where Eleisha was studying social work.

Details of the Horrific Incident

Eleisha Skinner, who was crowned Miss Faversham in 2022, was unloading her belongings from the car when it suddenly moved, pinning her against the accommodation building. Despite being trapped, she managed to call emergency services, who arrived within minutes. She was rushed to hospital but succumbed to her injuries days later on January 8, despite desperate efforts by medics and her housemates to save her.

University and Community Tributes

Buckinghamshire New University has confirmed that Eleisha will be posthumously awarded a BSc with honours in social work. The popular student was well-known in her hometown of Faversham, Kent, where over 200 mourners gathered for her funeral at St Mary of Charity Church. Friends and family described her as "beautiful, kind and selfless".

Her coffin was carried by horse and carriage past her former school, The Abbey, before travelling through the town to the church. In a touching tribute, mourners were invited to wear pink ties, reflecting her favourite colour.

Heartfelt Family Statements

Reading on behalf of the family, Rev Corcoran said: "Stunning, confident and always beautifully herself. Eleisha was the kind of person who made the world greater, just by being in it. Her impact was immense. We will carry with us always our beautiful Eleisha, forever loved."

Her older brother Kian expressed his grief: "I stand here today as a proud brother, who witnessed Eleisha develop into a brilliant woman. There will never be a person who can replace my little sister. God bless her, I will always love you, little sis."

Her grandfather George added: "We had the privilege of knowing you as a child, watching you grow up, supporting you, celebrating who you've become, and loving you unconditionally. Eleisha cared fiercely, fiercely about the people she loved, family matters, friends matter, and love matters."

In a tribute, her parents Nigel and Clare Skinner said: "We are utterly devastated by the sudden loss of our precious girl. Writing these words feels unimaginable, yet we want the world to know who she truly was: a kind, selfless, passionate young woman who always put others before herself. Nothing was ever too much for Eleisha. She had a heart of gold and a smile that could light up any room."

Legacy and Community Involvement

Eleisha was not only crowned Miss Faversham in 2022 but was also voted Miss Congeniality at the Miss Kent Dinner, a title her family said reflected her kind nature. She was actively involved in her community, raising money for local charities such as the Faversham Fire Brigade and carnival organisations, and participating in numerous community events.

Ongoing Investigation

An inquest has been opened at Beaconsfield Coroners Court, which heard how the parked car pushed her against the accommodation building. A full inquest into her death is scheduled for June 23, as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic accident.
