Local Elections 2026: Labour Faces Tough Battle at Polls

Millions of people across Wales, Scotland and parts of England are casting their vote today in elections considered crucial for Keir Starmer’s future as Prime Minister.

Labour Bracing for Losses

Labour is braced for a difficult night, with polls predicting the party could lose some 1,850 seats in councils across England. There are also fears the party could lose control of Wales and even slump to third place in Scotland.

In a final plea to voters, the Prime Minister urged them to “choose unity over division” and reject the divisive politics of Nigel Farage.
