Iran Threatens Missile Strikes and Hormuz Strait Blockade After US Talks Collapse
Iran Threatens Missiles and Hormuz Strait Blockade

Iran has threatened to restart missile attacks and block the Strait of Hormuz as it pulled out of a peace meeting in Switzerland with the United States. According to local Iranian media, the country has threatened to cancel all upcoming negotiations, despite having signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) just yesterday.

Iran Accuses US of Violating MOU

Iran warns it will re-block the Strait of Hormuz and respond with missiles over what it calls a direct violation of the first clause of the US-Iran MOU, reports say. The move comes as Israel continues its military foothold in southern Lebanon, despite a commitment from the first clause to end the war.

Negotiations Suspended

Following what it calls a breach of the MoU, Iran suspended its entire 60-day negotiation period with the US. This development comes less than 24 hours after the MOU was electronically signed.

The sudden escalation highlights the fragile nature of US-Iran relations and raises concerns about regional stability, particularly regarding the vital oil shipping route through the Strait of Hormuz.
