CNN halted their live coverage in what could prove a devastating blow to Donald Trump. The interruption came amid reports that the US president's top officials doubt Iran's intentions with securing a deal to end the war.
Trump's Remarks on Israel and Hezbollah
On Tuesday, Trump said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu needed "to be more responsible with respect to Lebanon." Speaking at the G7 summit in France, he also stated that Israel had been fighting Hezbollah for "too long and too many people are being killed." Both Israel and Hezbollah have carried out attacks against each other since the US-Iran agreement was announced on Sunday night.

CNN correspondent Erin Burnett halted her programme to address the latest reports on Tuesday. She began, "The CIA director and the Secretary of State doubting the agreement with Iran tonight. This is according to a new report just breaking from Axios, reports that CIA director John Ratcliffe reportedly told President Trump that US intelligence raised serious doubts about Iran's willingness to make the nuclear concessions the United States wants."
She continued: "Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth also expressing concerns about the deal. All of that is hugely significant and there is real anger coming from Trump's allies publicly too. Trump and [JD Vance] have claimed they've already signed the agreement, but they've refused to let anybody see it. And tonight, some of Trump's most visible supporters are crying foul."
Concerns from Trump's Allies
Sharing a clip from a Fox News interview, Marc Thiessen, former speechwriter to George W. Bush, expressed concern about the proposed deal. He commented, "The Iranians may comply for a short period of time, but then we're going to have a weak American president and they would have gotten the money."
Erin confirmed the monetary concerns were about reports that Iran could have access to $300 billion for holding up its end of the deal.
Details of the Agreement
The contents of the agreement - referred to as a memorandum of understanding - have not been officially released. Both sides were expected to sign the deal on Friday in the Swiss resort of Bürgenstock, Switzerland's Foreign Ministry told the Schweiz Heute newspaper.
Trump said he would likely hold a news conference to publicly read the agreement between the US and Iran "word by word."
