Sophie Habboo and her husband Jamie Laing enjoyed a well-deserved break from parenting duties as they attended their first night out since welcoming their son Ziggy two months ago. The former Made In Chelsea star, 31, and her partner, 37, made a stylish appearance at the EE BAFTA and Glamour Rising Star Party held at La Mome in London on Wednesday evening.
A Glamorous Evening Out
Sophie marked the special occasion by sharing a carousel of photos on social media, captioned "Mum and Dad's big night out. EE BAFTAs Rising Star Party". Posing for snaps ahead of the event, Sophie looked stunning in a black off-the-shoulder mini dress, complemented by sheer tights and elegant stilettos. Her long blonde hair was styled in a loose blown-out fashion, with soft glamorous makeup accentuating her features.
Jamie looked equally sharp in a black suit paired with a T-shirt and smart dress shoes. The couple, who married in Sotogrande, Marbella in May 2023, have been embracing parenthood while maintaining their public profiles.
Celebrating Rising Stars
The party honoured nominees for the prestigious EE BAFTA Rising Star Award, widely regarded as a pathway to A-list success. Previous winners include notable actors such as Tom Holland, James McAvoy, Tom Hardy, Lashana Lynch, and Kristen Stewart. This year's nominees, revealed last month, are Archie Madekwe (Lurker), Chase Infiniti (One Battle After Another), Miles Caton (Sinners), Posy Sterling (Lollipop), and Robert Aramayo (I Swear).
The event was hosted by 2024 EE Rising Star Award winner Mia McKenna-Bruce alongside film critic and radio presenter Ali Plumb. Nominees were selected by a panel of industry jurors including actors Joe Alwyn, Sheila Atim, and Benedict Wong, along with other distinguished experts.
Embracing Parenthood and New Projects
Since becoming parents, Sophie and Jamie have regularly shared updates about their family life. Most recently, Sophie posted an adorable photo captioned "My boy in his first pair of jeans", offering fans a glimpse into their wholesome weekend activities.
The couple is also preparing to bring their parenting journey to screens through an upcoming Disney+ documentary series. Commissioned last year, the docuseries will explore everything from Sophie's pregnancy to balancing their professional lives. Produced by Dorothy St Pictures in association with Jampot Productions, the series was commissioned by Executive Director Sean Doyle.
Behind the Scenes Glimpses
Jamie recently hinted that baby Ziggy will appear in the documentary, sharing a series of snaps dubbed the "Ziggy files". These included black-and-white images of the couple beaming while holding their son, Sophie cradling him on the sofa, and Jamie cooking with Ziggy strapped to his chest.
Speaking about the project, Jamie and Sophie expressed excitement about sharing this new chapter: "For nearly a decade, we've brought audiences along the highs and lows of our personal and professional lives through TV, radio, social media and our podcasts. It's such an honour to now partner with the incredible teams at Disney+ and Dorothy St Pictures to bring our next chapter to viewers across the globe."
They added: "Navigating our lives with a baby on the way has opened up a whole new stage of our relationship – we can't wait to give you a front row seat!"
Lighthearted Family Moments
Earlier this month, Jamie humorously addressed his "dad bod" in a playful Instagram clip with baby Ziggy. The video showed Jamie holding his son with the caption "I missed how my body looked before you", followed by a cut to Sophie's unimpressed reaction with the text "What you talking about, you're his Dad, get your a*s to the gym". Jamie aptly captioned the post "Dad bod era incoming", showcasing the couple's lighthearted approach to parenting challenges.
This comes after Jamie faced some backlash for a previous "superwoman" post about Sophie, demonstrating how the couple navigates public scrutiny while adjusting to their new roles as parents.
