Rosalia Brit Awards Debut as Show Moves to Manchester

The BRIT Awards 2026 is making a historic move from London to Manchester this month, with an expanding lineup of stellar performers that now includes Spanish music sensation Rosalia making her debut appearance at the prestigious ceremony.

Rosalia's Groundbreaking Career

Rosalia, who has been nominated for International Artist of the Year, will take to the BRITs stage for the first time in what promises to be a highlight of the February 28 event at Manchester's Co-op Live arena. The artist has emerged as Spain's biggest musical export, redefining global pop through her fearless fusion of genres and experimental boundary-pushing.

To date, Rosalia has achieved an impressive 13 number one tracks in her home country while accumulating two Grammy Awards and 11 Latin Grammy Awards. Her breakthrough concept album El Mar Querer cemented her reputation as one of the most innovative artists of her generation.

Record-Breaking Success

Her latest album, Lux, has broken multiple records, including achieving the most streamed album in a single day by a Spanish-speaking female artist. The album represents the highest charting release by a Spanish female artist in Official Chart history and the highest charting album by any Spanish artist since Enrique Iglesias in 2008.

Tour Warm-Up and Additional Honours

Rosalia's BRIT performance will serve as a warm-up to her global Lux Tour 2026, which begins on March 16 and will see her perform in 15 countries across 57 arena shows.

The announcement of Rosalia's performance follows news that Oasis star Noel Gallagher will receive the Songwriter of the Year award at the ceremony. Past winners of this prestigious honour include Ed Sheeran, Kid Harpoon, RAYE and Charli XCX.

Recognition for Musical Icons

Stacey Tang, Chair of the 2026 BRIT Awards Committee and Co-President of RCA Records at Sony Music UK, commented on Gallagher's recognition: "For more than three decades, Noel has crafted songs that have become part of our collective story - bold, brilliant, and always recognisable. His songs have soundtracked memories for multiple generations and defined the spirit of British music globally."

Mark Ronson will also receive special recognition at the ceremony, being honoured with the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award. The British-American musician, producer and DJ, who will perform on the night, described this as "the most meaningful honour of my career."

Star-Studded Lineup

The 2026 BRIT Awards will feature additional performances from Harry Styles, Olivia Dean and Wolf Alice, with comedian Jack Whitehall hosting the ceremony. The event marks a significant departure from tradition as it moves outside London for the first time, bringing Britain's premier music awards show to Manchester's state-of-the-art Co-op Live venue.

This year's ceremony promises to celebrate both established icons and emerging talent, with Rosalia's debut performance representing a particularly exciting addition to the BRIT Awards' storied history of memorable musical moments.
