LeAnn Rimes Cancels More Shows Due to COVID, Laryngitis

LeAnn Rimes announced on Friday that she has canceled more upcoming concerts, citing ongoing health issues. The 43-year-old Grammy-winner, who also canceled a string of shows earlier this week, used Instagram Stories to share a statement with her 1.2 million followers.

She wrote, 'After a diagnosis of covid leading to severe laryngitis, I’m so sorry to have to reschedule next week’s shows.' She added, 'A visit to my doctor for a scope of my vocal cords has confirmed the news and I wanted to tell you as soon as I could.'

Elsewhere in the note, she lamented, 'It breaks my heart having to reschedule these shows. There is no place I would rather be next week than celebrating with all of you.'

The songstress, whose performances were supposed to take place in Waukegan, Illinois and Wilmington, Ohio, has rescheduled them for November 6 and 7. In Friday's post, Rimes shared, 'As with the previous shows, your tickets will remain valid. And for those who can no longer attend, refunds will be available via your point of purchase.'

She said about her inability to perform: 'This is sadly out of my hands until I get this under control.' The 'Can't Fight the Moonlight' hitmaker signed off, 'Sending you all my love, Le.'

Rimes previously announced on Wednesday that she was suffering from a 'severe illness' that caused her to cancel shows in Spokane and Seattle. She said she was 'heartbroken' that she would not be able to sing for her fans this week as she needed to rest. The shows were supposed to take place April 30 and May 1.

It comes nearly one year after Rimes's teeth fell out mid-performance. Last June she had a dental mishap on stage, with her teeth falling out as she performed at the Skagit Valley Casino & Resort in Bow, Washington. She later took to social media to recount the ordeal, detailing how her dental bridge 'popped out' during a song.

Rimes revealed in January she had an intensive procedure costing up to $45,000 to 'clean' her blood of mold and microplastics. The country music star shared a candid video on Instagram from her trip to Next Health medical clinic in Nashville, showing herself hooked up to a machine as she underwent the treatment. The costly longevity procedure removes the liquid portion of blood, filtering out toxins, antibodies and inflammatory agents before replacing it with fresh plasma.

'I demand so much from my body and it's incredibly important to me to take the best care of it I possibly can,' she captioned her video, which showed her reclining in a chair with tubes connected to her arms.
