Peter Andre Stands Firm Against Children's Fashion Criticisms
Entertainment personality Peter Andre has openly discussed his family dynamics and career resurgence during a recent television appearance. The singer appeared on James Martin's Saturday Morning, where he candidly shared insights about his children's opinions regarding his personal style and his musical projects.
Family Fashion Disagreements Surface
Peter Andre revealed that his two eldest children, Princess and Junior, have been persistently requesting that he alter his distinctive hairstyle. The singer shares these children with his former spouse Katie Price, while also parenting three younger children with his current wife Emily.
"They're complaining I've got an '18-year-old's haircut'," Andre admitted humorously during the interview. "They don't like that, they're like, 'Dad get rid of that thing at the back of your head.'"
Despite their repeated appeals, the fifty-two-year-old performer remains steadfast in his fashion choices. "I said, 'Look, while I've got hair, son, I'm going to just enjoy it. It's going to leave me at one point so why not!' I try to keep young," he explained with characteristic good humor.
Musical Legacy and Family Support
The television appearance coincided with Andre celebrating three decades since the release of his iconic single Mysterious Girl. The singer is preparing to launch a new album titled Legacy, which features reimagined versions of his classic hits alongside fresh musical compositions.
Andre described the album's concept: "I joke with many people that I've had three number ones and ten top five hits, but no one remembers any of them. They only remember the one song. So it's become a bit of an ongoing joke. But what we thought was, go revisit them, keep them nostalgic, but bring them up to date."
Interestingly, Andre's children have responded positively to the musical project. "My kids really love these new versions because they just feel it's a different take on them. It's sort of modernised a bit, but we've still kept that nostalgic feel," he revealed.
Children Following Entertainment Careers
Despite their fashion disagreements, Andre expressed pride in his children's own entertainment industry pursuits. His son Junior has established a promising music career, achieving chart success with singles including Slide and Only One. Meanwhile, Princess has cultivated substantial social media influence with nearly one million Instagram followers, secured modeling contracts with prominent brands, and launched her own reality television series.
"They're really supportive, they're going into the industry themselves... I'm very happy for them," Andre stated affectionately about his children's professional endeavors.
Collaborative Encouragement and Future Plans
In a surprising revelation, Andre disclosed that he nearly abandoned the Legacy album project before receiving encouragement from fellow musician Gary Barlow. The Take That legend persuaded Andre to return to recording studios and revisit his musical catalogue.
The album will feature three completely new songs alongside updated versions of Andre's previous hits, creating what the singer describes as a balanced blend of nostalgia and contemporary musical sensibilities.
Andre's appearance on James Martin's Saturday Morning provided viewers with intimate insights into both his family relationships and professional evolution as he approaches this significant career milestone three decades after his initial breakthrough success.
