Mia Fevola Reveals Harry Styles' Flirtatious Remark About Her Mother

Mia Fevola has disclosed a surprising celebrity encounter involving her mother and global pop sensation Harry Styles. During a candid conversation on Sunday's episode of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! Australia, the 26-year-old daughter of AFL legend Brendan Fevola recounted how Styles, then a member of One Direction, expressed admiration for her mother Alex's appearance.

The Unexpected Compliment from a Pop Icon

"I met the whole of One Direction when they came to Australia," Mia explained to her campmates. "And Harry had made a comment to my friend about my mum, like, about my mum being hot." The model expressed her initial disbelief at the situation, adding, "And I was like, ah! No way is he hitting on my mum."

While the exact timing remains unclear, historical records indicate One Direction's last Australian performance occurred in 2015 during their On the Road Again tour. At that time, Harry Styles would have been approximately 21 years old, while Alex Fevola was around 38. The globally successful boy band had previously toured Australia in 2012 and 2013, with an additional appearance at the ARIA Awards in 2014, before entering indefinite hiatus in early 2016.

A Family's Struggle with Gambling Addiction

The revelation about Harry Styles emerged alongside much more serious family disclosures. Mia emotionally detailed how her father's gambling addiction plunged the family into financial ruin and homelessness. "The whole gambling situation, I honestly blocked so much of it out," she confessed during the reality show. "I think just as a defence mechanism. But I know he gambled $363,000 in a day."

Mia described how her mother attempted to shield the children from the severity of their circumstances. "My mum tried very, very hard to protect us from all of these things," she explained. "I didn't really know what was going on unless people at school told me. That's how I found out. We just bought a house and didn't settle so we got sued. And then we were homeless because he gambled every cent ever that we had."

Recovery and Family Dynamics

The family's path to recovery involved significant sacrifices and career changes. "We moved back in with my nana in Melbourne," Mia revealed. "You know, my mum did Dancing with the Stars, and that's how we sort of got back on our feet. Dad went to rehab."

Brendan Fevola, 45, declared bankruptcy in 2013 following substantial gambling losses that reportedly reached millions of dollars. His football career decline coincided with this financial collapse, leading to a rehabilitation stint. The couple's relationship has experienced considerable turbulence, including a brief separation in 2010 after Alex discovered Brendan's affair with Australian model Lara Worthington (formerly Lara Bingle). They divorced in 2014 primarily due to gambling issues but reconciled shortly afterward.

The Fevola family now includes four children: stepdaughter Mia, plus daughters Leni (19), Lulu (15), and Tobi (7). Mia's dual revelations on the reality show—combining lighthearted celebrity anecdotes with deeply personal family struggles—have captivated Australian audiences, highlighting both the glamorous intersections of celebrity culture and the harsh realities of addiction's impact on families.
