In a heartwarming reunion that delighted Disney Channel fans worldwide, actress Debby Ryan recently reconnected with three of her former co-stars from the hit series Jessie during a special weekend in New York City.
A Nostalgic Gathering in the Big Apple
The 32-year-old actress shared a series of joyful photographs on social media documenting her time with Karan Brar, Kevin Chamberlain, and Peyton List. Ryan and Chamberlain, 62, attended Brar's off-Broadway performance in the techno thriller play Data, where the 27-year-old actor showcased his theatrical talents.
Theater Successes and Shared Memories
Following Brar's performance, the group reunited with List, 27, after her own show Heathers the Musical! The former colleagues appeared absolutely thrilled to be together again, beaming with enormous smiles as they posed for multiple group photographs that radiated genuine affection and nostalgia.
Ryan captured the emotional significance of their reunion in an Instagram caption, writing: 'Karan & Peyton are nine years older than I was when we started filming Jessie. Currently NINE years older than the character of Jessie. And they and Kevin are living in NYC for real and thriving in theater. And I have a kid of my own family.'
Co-Stars Express Mutual Admiration
The sentiment was warmly reciprocated by her former castmates. Brar commented enthusiastically beneath Ryan's post: 'The joy you bring into my life is unmatched. Love you Deb.' Chamberlain added his own heartfelt message: 'I had far too much fun! Going to nap now! Love you, Deb, Karan and Peyton.'
Remembering Jessie's Legacy
The beloved comedy series Jessie aired on Disney Channel from 2011 through 2015, spanning four successful seasons. Ryan portrayed the titular character Jessie Prescott, a recent high school graduate rebelling against her strict father's plans for her to join the military.
The ensemble cast also included the late actor Cameron Boyce, who tragically passed away in 2019 at just 20 years old due to complications from epilepsy, and actress Skai Jackson. Fans flooded social media with emotional responses to the reunion photographs, with one enthusiast declaring: 'This is so important for me, love you guys!' Another echoed: 'This makes my heart so happy.'
Personal Milestones and Family Life
Beyond their professional achievements, Ryan has embraced motherhood since welcoming her first child, daughter Felix Winter Dun, with rocker husband Josh Dun in December. The couple's romance began in 2013, culminating in their wedding on December 31, 2019.
Ryan previously revealed to Vogue in 2020 how their intimate nuptials came together with just 28 days of planning. 'We began to flirt with the idea of having a destination party celebrating the new decade, then decided in December to get married in Austin on New Year's Eve, and just keep dancing until after the ball dropped,' she explained.
The ceremony took place inside a carefully selected church, with Ryan noting: 'It became more and more important to us that the sanctity of the union exist in a reverent place. I think I saw every church in the greater Austin area and narrowed it down to two. Joshua chose the one we went with. The stained glass windows really got me.'
