Jane McDonald Breaks Down in Tears on New Channel 5 Show Nashville Journey

Jane McDonald was visibly emotional during a preview of her upcoming Channel 5 series, Jane McDonald's Nashville, which airs next month. The 62-year-old singer and presenter broke down in tears while recording her 11th studio album, Living the Dream, at the legendary Blackbird Studios in Nashville.

Speaking on ITV's This Morning on Tuesday, McDonald told presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley about the overwhelming experience. 'I walked in straight to Taylor Swift's big album. I thought, I am sat where Taylor Swift was,' she said, before becoming tearful as she discussed the personal nature of the songs she had written for the album.

Reflecting on her emotions, McDonald said: 'It's my songs, you know? I've written these, and it's my life that I've been writing about, and hopes and dreams. We all go through bad times, but get out and live life, live the dream. I'm living the dream in the Blackbird studio with all these amazing Nashville musicians who are going, This is really good. When you get that, it's like what?! It's just a joy, a joy to do.'

The two-part series, which begins on Channel 5 on April 9, follows McDonald as she explores Music City, including visits to the Jack Daniel's Distillery, the Parthenon replica, and historic homes. She also shared behind-the-scenes photos on social media, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to record at Blackbird Studios, where country legends like Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, and Taylor Swift have also recorded.
