A contestant on ITV's The 1% Club made a rare decision to walk away from a £98,000 prize after claiming a dream warned her not to gamble. Liz, appearing on Saturday's episode, told host Lee Mack that she had a premonition the night before in which she chose to take £10,000 but ended up playing the final question and losing.
Liz had earlier said she needed the money to buy her husband a ticket for the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. When faced with the choice of taking £10,000 or playing for the jackpot, she asked the studio audience for advice—a move that left Mack stunned. 'We have never had anybody ask the studio that question before,' he said.
Ultimately, Liz heeded her dream and left with £10,000. The final 1% question was: 'If you can roll six different numbers using one standard dice, how many different totals can you make by rolling three identical standard dice?' Liz said she would have answered 102, but the correct answer was 16.
Viewers praised her decision on social media, with one writing: 'Well played Liz. Respect for making the correct decision.' Another added: 'This woman who had that dream must be psychic.'
