Iran's New Supreme Leader Narrowly Escaped Missile Strike by Seconds

Leaked audio footage has revealed that Iran's new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, escaped death by mere seconds when US or Israeli missiles targeted his home in Tehran. The attack, which occurred during Ramadan, killed his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and other regime members, but Mojtaba survived due to a timely step outside.

Leaked Recording Details the Narrow Escape

In a recording obtained by the Telegraph, Mazaher Hosseini, the head of protocol for the late Ali Khamenei, recounted the incident to senior clerics and political leaders. He stated, "God’s will was that Mojtaba had to go out to the yard to do something and then return. He was outside and was heading upstairs when they struck the building with a missile." This brief departure saved his life, while his wife, Ms Haddad, was killed instantly in the blast.

Multiple Locations Targeted in the Attack

Hosseini claimed that the missile strike blitzed several locations within the Tehran compound simultaneously. The supreme leader's residence was hit with three missiles, impacting Mojtaba Khamenei's home on an upper floor and the residence below belonging to his brother-in-law. The force of the missiles was so severe that it reportedly cut the head of Ali Khamenei's brother-in-law in half.

Injuries and Aftermath of the Strike

Despite his survival, Mojtaba Khamenei suffered a leg injury during the attack, and his wife and son were among the casualties. Rumours have circulated globally about his condition, as he has not appeared in public or in video recordings since the strikes. Reports last week suggested he was in a coma and had lost at least one leg, with additional serious stomach or liver damage.

Speculation Over Medical Treatment

Further reports this weekend alleged that the new supreme leader was flown to Moscow for leg surgery, personally offered by Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida, he underwent a successful operation at one of Putin's presidential palaces. This development adds to the uncertainty surrounding his health and ability to lead Iran following the attack.

The leaked audio and subsequent reports highlight the precarious situation in Iran's political elite, with the new leader's absence fueling speculation and concern both domestically and internationally.
