Iran's New Supreme Leader 'Escaped Death by Seconds' in Missile Attack

Leaked audio has revealed that Iran's new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, narrowly escaped death when US or Israeli missiles struck his home. The attack, which killed his father, former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, occurred as Mojtaba stepped outside for a brief moment.

The recording, obtained by The Telegraph, features Mazaher Hosseini, the head of protocol for the late Ayatollah, speaking to senior clerics and political leaders. Hosseini stated: 'God's will was that Mojtaba had to go out to the yard to do something and then return. He was outside and was heading upstairs when they struck the building with a missile. His wife, Ms Haddad, was martyred instantly.'

Mojtaba Khamenei had been living in the Tehran compound with his father, which also housed homes of other family members. Hosseini claimed multiple locations were targeted simultaneously, including the supreme leader's residence, which was hit by three missiles. Mojtaba's home on an upper floor was also struck, along with his brother-in-law's residence below.

The new supreme leader suffered a leg injury in the attack, and his wife and son were killed. Despite this, he has not been seen in public or in video recordings since the strikes, fuelling rumours about his condition. Reports last week suggested he was in a coma and had lost at least one leg, while another report claimed he was flown to Moscow for leg surgery personally offered by Vladimir Putin.
