Ben Affleck’s latest Super Bowl commercial for Dunkin’ features a star-studded cast including Jennifer Aniston, Tom Brady, and Ted Danson in a fictional 1990s sitcom called “Good Will Dunkin’.” The ad imagines what the 1997 drama “Good Will Hunting” would look like as a comedy, with nods to classic shows like “Friends,” “Cheers,” and “Seinfeld.”
The actors were de-aged using special effects, and the spot was shot on film on a real set. Dunkin’ created the ad to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its first iced coffee advertisement, which aired in 1995.
To mark the occasion, Dunkin’ will give away 1.995 million free iced coffees of any size starting Monday, Feb. 9. Customers can redeem the offer using the code GOODWILLDUNKIN in the Dunkin’ app. A limited collection of vintage 1990s-inspired apparel, sourced from Boston vintage shops, will also be available at DunkinRunsOnMerch.com.
The ad continues Affleck’s series of humorous Dunkin’ commercials, which have previously featured the “DunKings” musical group and cameos from Jeremy Strong, Casey Affleck, and Jennifer Lopez.
