Pregnant actress Aubrey Plaza proudly revealed her growing baby bump during a casual outing in New York City on Tuesday. The 41-year-old star, who is expecting her first child with actor Christopher Abbott, 40, showcased her maternity fashion while navigating the bustling streets of Manhattan.

Plaza opted for a comfortable yet stylish ensemble, pairing a cropped white T-shirt with a beige coat and black athletic shorts. She accessorized with knee-high white socks and mauve-toned New Balance sneakers, completing the look with a glossy red manicure and black sunglasses to shield her eyes from the spring sun. The mom-to-be was spotted riding the subway, carrying a woven black leather bag over her shoulder and wearing a beige baseball cap.

The public appearance followed Plaza's candid discussion about her pregnancy on the Smartless podcast episode released on Monday. During the conversation with hosts Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes, she humorously confirmed, "Well, there's a baby inside of me. No, I said there's a baby inside of me right now." Plaza shared details about a recent doctor's visit, noting, "Today was a big day. I went to the doctor’s today, and my dog also went to the doctor’s. And both of us – my dog’s getting a scan right now. I got a scan earlier. I’m not kidding."
She elaborated, "She had to get an ultrasound on her stomach…And then I got an ultrasound on my stomach, and there is a baby in there." Injecting her signature quirky humor, Plaza joked, "It already has a cloak and a little hat. I think it's gonna come out." This pregnancy comes more than a year after the tragic death of Plaza's estranged husband, screenwriter Jeff Baena, who died by suicide at age 47 in January 2025. According to an LA County Medical Examiner's autopsy report obtained by DailyMail.com, Plaza and Baena had been separated since September 2024. She was living in New York when he was found in Los Angeles on January 3.
Last August, Plaza reflected on her grief during an appearance on former co-star Amy Poehler's podcast Good Hang. She shared, "Right in this very, very present moment, I feel happy to be with you. Overall, I'm here and I'm functioning. I feel really grateful to be moving through the world. I think I'm okay, but it's like a daily struggle."
