Russia Seizes Two Ukrainian Settlements Amid Intense Fighting
Russia Claims Capture of Two Eastern Ukraine Villages

Russia Advances in Eastern Ukraine

Russian military forces have reportedly captured two more settlements in eastern Ukraine amidst ongoing intense fighting. The Russian Defence Ministry announced on Tuesday that its troops have taken control of the villages of Nechaivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region and Tsehelne in the Kharkiv region.

Escalating Territorial Gains

This latest advance is part of a broader offensive, with Moscow claiming the capture of 29 settlements across the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions over the past four weeks. The situation on the ground remains highly volatile as Ukrainian forces continue to defend their territory.

Attack on Civilian Shipping Infrastructure

In a separate but related incident, a Turkish liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker, the MR Orinda, sustained significant damage off the coast of Ukraine's Odesa region on Monday. The vessel was struck by Russian forces while it was offloading at the Izmail port. The attack was severe enough to prompt the evacuation of three nearby Romanian villages due to fears of a potential explosion. This maritime strike occurred just one day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a deal to import US liquefied natural gas via the same area, highlighting the strategic targeting of energy infrastructure.
