Real Housewives Star Sally Obermeder Reveals How She Lost 22kg
Sally Obermeder Shares Weight Loss Secrets After Losing 22kg

Real Housewives of Sydney star Sally Obermeder has opened up about the small lifestyle changes that led to an impressive 22kg weight loss. The 53-year-old reality TV veteran recently took to social media to share how a simple adjustment dramatically improved her overall health and well-being.

How Sally Obermeder Lost 22kg

In a candid video, Obermeder explained that she had been neglecting herself, putting everyone else first. She reached a point where she dreaded going to the park with her children because they would want her to chase them. 'I would try to offer up any other alternative that basically involved me sitting down. I had lost my energy levels, muscle tone and get-up-and-go,' she said.

Realising she needed to make significant changes to 'feel good again', she started with a simple routine: walking for 30 minutes every day. 'I am very much an all-or-nothing person. I challenged myself to pull back and keep it very basic,' she explained. 'We're not going to sign up for a million things, we are just going to walk but I am going to do it every single day, at a time that suits us.'

Dietary Changes and Health Toolkit

The second part of her transformation focused on diet. Obermeder began prioritising protein and fibre at every meal, describing them as 'simple meals' that were repeatable and not overly complicated. She focused on fresh, whole ingredients.

To ensure she met her weight loss goals, she built a health 'tool kit'. Within a few months, she had already shed 22kg.

Fans and followers congratulated her on her incredible work. Veteran presenter Melissa Doyle gushed, 'You glow with vitality girlfriend xx,' while another said, 'Look amazing.'

Career and Personal Journey

Obermeder rose to fame in the 2000s as a presenter on Sydney Weekender. She later moved on to roles on Today Tonight, The Morning Show, and The Daily Edition. She left the Seven Network in 2020 before embarking on a reality TV career, joining Real Housewives of Sydney for its second season in 2023.

In recent years, she has been busy with her wellness brand, SWIISH, which she was inspired to start after battling stage-three breast cancer. She was diagnosed with the disease in October 2011, at 41 weeks pregnant, the day before she was due to give birth to her first daughter Annabelle. Obermeder has since overcome the cancer.
