The lineup for the 2026 series of Celebrity Traitors has been officially unveiled, and the star-studded cast has left fans in awe. Among the famous faces set to compete are Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Bella Ramsey, Ross Kemp, Richard E Grant, Amol Rajan, James Blunt, James Acaster, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock. The announcement, made by the BBC, has generated significant buzz on social media.
Fan Reactions to the Cast
Many viewers have expressed their excitement over the diverse and high-profile lineup. One fan wrote on social media: 'James Acaster and Joe Lycett in the same castle. Michael Sheen. Bella Ramsey. Richard E. Grant. This is the best Celebrity Traitors cast they’ve ever assembled and it’s not close.' The inclusion of multiple comedy stars and renowned actors has been particularly praised.
Disappointment Over Missing Stars
However, despite the impressive roster, some fans have voiced disappointment over the absence of certain rumoured contestants. Chief among these is Steve Pemberton, best known for The League of Gentlemen, who had been widely tipped to appear. One fan lamented: 'The announcement for the new series of Celebrity Traitors is such a rollercoaster. What do you mean I am screaming because Michael Sheen and James Acaster are in, but also because Steve Pemberton is not??' Another simply wrote: 'NO STEVE ON CELEB TRAITORS,' accompanied by a shocked GIF.
Similarly, Bob Mortimer, who had been rumoured for both the first season and the upcoming second season, was notably missing. A fan commented: 'Great line up but gutted to have to wait another year for Bob Mortimer as the best Traitor ever!' Another added: 'No Steve Pemberton or Bob Mortimer on celeb traitors s2.'
About the Show
Celebrity Traitors is a spin-off of the popular reality show The Traitors. In the series, contestants are secretly divided into 'Faithfuls' and 'Traitors'. The Traitors, initially three in number, must convince the others they are Faithfuls while surviving a series of tense 'banishment' votes. The first season featured comedian Alan Carr, TV presenter Jonathan Ross, and musician Cat Burns as Traitors, with Faithfuls including Stephen Fry, Nick Mohammed, Clare Balding, and Celia Imrie.
Season two of Celebrity Traitors is set to premiere on BBC One later in 2026. The full list of contestants is available on the BBC website.
