Hayleigh Davis, a 37-year-old mother from Tidworth, Wiltshire, is speaking out after her use of weight-loss injections led to an anorexia diagnosis and severe health complications. Initially weighing 14 stone 2 pounds, she turned to slimming jabs in November 2024 after enduring hurtful online comments about her weight.
Rapid Weight Loss and Obsessive Behavior
Within one month, Hayleigh lost over a stone. However, she became fixated on the injections, increasing her dosage to two or three times weekly despite medical advice against it. "I was overweight and the hate comments I received on my weight were wearing me down," she said. "People would comment on my social media saying I looked chubby and it really got to me."
In total, she shed eight stone. But the rapid weight loss came at a cost. She experienced extreme hair loss, gallbladder flare-ups, and recurrent urinary tract infections that affected her kidneys. She also collapsed and fainted regularly before seeking medical help.
Anorexia Diagnosis and Ongoing Treatment
In November 2025, Hayleigh was diagnosed with anorexia. Doctors instructed her to stop the jabs immediately. "When I was diagnosed, I was told to stop the jabs immediately," she recalled. Now under the care of an eating disorder clinic, she is slowly rebuilding her relationship with food and challenging her self-perception.
Hayleigh is sharing her story to warn others about the dangers of misusing weight-loss injections. She urges anyone considering them to consult their GP first and to stop once they reach their goal weight. "I lost eight stone with weight-loss jabs, but I got a warning sign and then a brutal diagnosis," she said.
