Liverpool NHS dentists taking new patients: full list

Finding an NHS dentist in Liverpool remains a significant challenge, with more than one in four adults across England estimated to have unmet dental needs.

Research highlights cost and access barriers

Research by private provider Smart Dental Care found 44% of Liverpool residents had avoided the dentist because of cost. A further 22% said they could not find an NHS dentist.

NHS Cheshire and Merseyside said it is working to improve access. A spokesperson told the ECHO: "We've introduced local measures such as our Access and Quality Scheme, which focuses on improving access for vulnerable patients and those with the greatest need."

Practices listed with varying availability

The NHS website currently lists 31 Liverpool practices offering some form of NHS dental care. Availability varies — some are listed for urgent treatment only, while others have not confirmed whether they are accepting new patients for routine check-ups.

People needing urgent dental help can call NHS Cheshire and Merseyside's helpline on 0161 476 9651, seven days a week.
