Jeremy Clarkson Urges Prostate Cancer Testing After Diagnosis

Jeremy Clarkson has shared an update on social media following his prostate cancer diagnosis, urging men to get tested even if they have to lie about symptoms. The 66-year-old former Top Gear host revealed the news in the latest season of his Prime Video series 'Clarkson's Farm'.

Clarkson's Social Media Announcement

In an Instagram video, Clarkson thanked followers for their support and made a direct appeal: 'The more observant among you will have noticed that I'm not dead, and I'm not just not dead, I'm perfectly fine. The doctors caught the prostate cancer early because I got tested.' He emphasized that testing is now a simple blood test, not a physical exam, and encouraged men to lie about symptoms if necessary to secure a test.

Clarkson stated that 10,000 to 12,000 men die annually in the UK from prostate cancer, adding: 'Don't be one of them. Get tested.'

Diagnosis Revealed on 'Clarkson's Farm'

In the fifth season of his reality show, Clarkson told farm manager Kaleb Cooper and land agent Charlie Ireland: 'I've got cancer.' He described the disease as 'aggressive' but detected early. The series ended with Clarkson in a hospital bed after surgery to remove part of his prostate, during which he experienced complications.

He said: 'I won't know whether it's worked or not until November probably... The prostate, 10% of it's dead, the 10% where the cancer is.' Reflecting on the show's future, he added: 'If this is all successful, I'll see you for season six, and if it isn't, I won't. Take care, everyone.'

Support from Partner and Charity

Clarkson's partner, Irish actress Lisa Hogan, shared a photo of him back at the farm on Instagram, writing 'back at the farm.' She also reposted a message from Prostate Cancer UK thanking Clarkson for raising 'vital awareness.' Hogan said: 'Thank you for all the support today.'

Background on Clarkson's Farm

Clarkson began farming in 2019 at Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire. The show has made him a vocal supporter of farmers, attending a 2024 protest against inheritance tax on farmland. Season six is due in 2027. Before the new episodes aired, Clarkson warned viewers that two episodes were 'a difficult watch.' Farmhand Gerald Cooper, who previously revealed his own prostate cancer diagnosis, was declared cancer-free in 2024.
