Jeremy Clarkson has opened up about his cancer diagnosis in the latest season of Clarkson's Farm, revealing details of his prostate operation. The presenter, known for his work on Top Gear and The Grand Tour, shared the news in the fifth series of his Prime Video show.
How old is Jeremy Clarkson?
Jeremy Clarkson was born in April 1960 in Sprotbrough, West Riding of Yorkshire. As of 2026, he is 66 years old. During series five of Clarkson's Farm, he candidly discussed his health and sense of mortality.
Cancer diagnosis revealed
In episode seven of the show, after a private conversation with Charlie Ireland and Kaleb Cooper, Clarkson revealed he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. The news left his colleagues deeply shaken. In the final moments of the season, he appeared from his hospital bed, disclosing that his operation had "gone awry" and expressing uncertainty about what lay ahead.
Previous health scares
This is not the first time Clarkson has addressed his advancing years. Prior to turning 62, he reflected on how "death can't be far away." Writing in his Sunday Times column, he stated: "Instead of hiding in a wardrobe, hoping it won't find me there, I'm writing this, and when I've finished I'll go to the pub. I do think about dying, a lot, and it bothers me. But not as much as it should."
Optimism after surgery
Following his cancer revelation, Clarkson reassured his fellow cast members: "I promise, I'll be fine," maintaining his trademark sense of humour. Shortly after celebrating his 66th birthday, he declared he would "do anything in my power not to die" because he loved being a grandparent. He disclosed that he had taken significant steps to boost his health, including increasing his physical activity. Writing in his Times column, he said: "Eventually, I decided that organised, indoor exercise was not for me and decided instead to do walking. Not when it's raining obviously. Or if it's too cold, or hot. And not if I'm busy. But on a reasonably temperate Sunday morning, I'd get out there and pootle along. So far I've relied on luck to keep me alive."
Clarkson has yet to share any further updates following his prostate operation. Clarkson's Farm season 5 is available on Prime Video.
