Arla Foods Ltd is recalling several Arla Protein Pudding products sold in supermarkets including Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and Morrisons because they may contain glass, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has announced.
The FSA alert states the items are unsafe to eat and advises customers not to consume them. Instead, the products can be returned to the store where they were purchased for a full refund, with no receipt required.
Affected Products and Best-Before Dates
The recall covers three flavours, all in 200g packs. The Arla Protein Pudding in Chocolate flavour is affected with best-before dates of January 11, 18 and 20, and February 6, 2027. The Salted Caramel flavour has best-before dates of January 21, 23 and 31, and February 2, 2027. The Vanilla Cookie flavour is affected with a best-before date of January 25, 2027.
The FSA said: "These products may contain glass, which makes them unsafe to eat. Arla Foods Ltd is recalling the above products. Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling these products. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products."
What Customers Should Do
The FSA added: "If you have bought the above products, do not eat them. Instead, return them to where you bought them from for a full refund. For further information, please contact 01133 827009 or hello@arlafoods.com."
Point of sale notices are being displayed in all retail stores selling the affected products, explaining the reason for the recall and the steps customers should take.
About Product Recalls and Withdrawals
The FSA explained that if a food product has a problem meaning it should not be sold, it might be 'withdrawn' – taken off the shelves – or 'recalled', when customers are asked to return the product. The FSA issues Product Recall Information Notices to inform consumers and local authorities about food-related problems. In some cases, a 'Food Alert for Action' is issued, providing local authorities with details of specific action to be taken on behalf of consumers.
