Aldi Recalls Five Products Over Salmonella Risk

An urgent recall has been issued for five products sold at Aldi stores across the United States due to potential salmonella contamination. The US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced the alert on 30 April, following concerns over dry milk powder used in the items.

The affected products include frozen pizzas and pork rinds. Among the recalled items are Mama Cozzi's Biscuit Crust Sausage & Cheese Breakfast Pizza (18.5 oz), Mama Cozzi's Biscuit Crust, Cooked Pork Belly Crumbles, Cooked Bacon, Pepper & Onion Breakfast Pizza (17.15 oz), and Culinary Circle Ultra Thin Crust Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza (16.4 oz).

The FSIS updated the alert on 1 May to include additional frozen pizzas sold nationwide. The agency warned that further downstream products may be identified as the recall develops. To date, no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported.

Shoppers are urged not to consume any affected products, even if thoroughly cooked. They should either dispose of the items or return them to the store for a refund. Anyone concerned about salmonella should contact their healthcare provider.
