Robbie Williams on Mounjaro: 'A different person' despite eyesight side effects
Robbie Williams reveals Mounjaro weight loss jab side effects

Singer Robbie Williams has made a startling revelation about his use of weight loss medication Mounjaro, stating he has become a 'different person' since beginning treatment, though not without experiencing significant side effects.

Mental Liberation and Physical Transformation

The 51-year-old music icon has been remarkably candid about his journey, explaining to The Sun that the medication has brought him an unprecedented sense of mental peace. 'The lack of mental anguish that I've felt since I've been on Mounjaro is completely and utterly liberating,' Williams disclosed.

He further elaborated on his improved mental state, noting a dramatic shift over the past decade. 'For the longest time, mentally, I've not been very well,' Williams confessed. 'And it would seem that in the last ten years, the clouds have cleared, and I'm a different person. I'm one of those people that likes working out now: Stretching, discipline, taking care of myself.'

Devastating Side Effects Emerge

Despite the psychological benefits, Williams identified a troubling physical side effect: a significant deterioration in his eyesight. The singer, who describes himself as an 'early adapter' of the weight loss jabs, has found his vision has gone 'significantly downhill' since starting the medication.

This concern is supported by emerging research. A recent US study discovered that patients using certain fat jabs for Type 2 diabetes were four times more likely to be diagnosed with non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), a condition involving reduced blood flow to the optic nerve that can lead to sight loss.

The UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency has received 296 reports of eye disorders potentially linked to Mounjaro, with 164 of these claims specifically citing vision damage, though scientists have not yet established a definitive causal link.

Performance Impact and Unwavering Commitment

The vision problems have directly affected Williams' professional life. He revealed that he now struggles to see people in the audience while performing on stage, particularly during his performance of 'You're The One'.

Williams firmly believes the eyesight issues are medication-related rather than age-related, noting that his prescription has changed so dramatically that he's had to purchase a 'whole new load' of glasses.

Remarkably, even a chilling warning from a fan during a meet and greet hasn't deterred him. '[A fan] said their friend has 'gone blind' from weight loss jabs,' Williams shared, though he responded with his characteristic dark humour by asking if her friend 'looks good though'.

The singer remains committed to the treatment, stating he would continue using Mounjaro 'until the sight in one eye has completely gone', highlighting the profound impact the medication has had on his overall wellbeing despite the visual compromises.
