Robbie Williams Links Blurry Eyesight to Weight Loss Jabs
Robbie Williams blames weight-loss jabs for eyesight

Singer Robbie Williams has publicly raised concerns that his use of weight loss injections may be responsible for a significant decline in his eyesight.

The former Take That star, who has been open about using the jabs for several years, told The Sun that he feels compelled to warn others about the potential side effects after experiencing persistent blurry vision.

Warning Over Blurred Vision

Williams revealed that his eyesight has deteriorated to the point where he struggles to identify individual faces in a crowd. He described attending a football match where the players appeared as 'blobs on a green field' and confirmed he has had to update his glasses prescription as a result.

'I want to warn people reading this of the potential risks, to make sure they do their research,' the 'Angels' singer stated. 'I was quite an early adopter of the jabs, but what I’m also noticing is that my eyesight’s not very good.'

He added that he believes the issue is widespread among other users, saying, 'Everybody’s experiencing it, because I’ll say to people, 'Blurry, right?' And they go, 'Oh s**t, that the thing?''

What Does the Research Say?

A scientific study from 2024 appears to lend some credence to his concerns. The research, which analysed data from 17,000 patients over six years, found that people prescribed semaglutide—the active ingredient in weight loss jabs like Ozempic and Wegovy—were seven times more likely to develop a specific, serious eye condition.

This rare condition can potentially lead to vision loss in one eye. However, the study's authors were careful to note that their research could not definitively prove that semaglutide caused the condition and emphasised that the number of people affected was small.

A History of Using Jabs for Health

Williams first disclosed his use of weight loss injections in 2023, explaining to The Times that it was a medical necessity linked to his mental health. He famously quipped, 'Babe, I’m on Ozempic. Well, something like Ozempic. It’s like a Christmas miracle.'

He attributed his decision to what he called his 'type 2 self-loathing', describing the profound impact his weight had on his psychological wellbeing. 'It’s shockingly catastrophic to my mental health to be bigger,' he shared. 'My inner voice talks to me like Katie Hopkins talks about fat people. It’s maddening.'

Williams also touched upon his body dysmorphia, revealing that when people express concern about him being too thin, he internally perceives it as a success. The singer's health journey was so notable it was featured in his 2024 film biopic.

More recently, in October 2025, Williams was forced to cancel a scheduled gig in Istanbul, citing the need to protect public safety.
