90 Day Fiancé star Jenny Slatten has revealed she was diagnosed with ALS in December 2025, one year after she first experienced symptoms. The reality star, 68, and her husband Sumit Singh, 38, shared her diagnosis during a new interview with People.
Diagnosis and Symptoms
Slatten told People she experienced her first ALS symptom in December 2024 when she choked “badly” while drinking water. Soon after, she had trouble swallowing and thought she had “some kind of infection,” so she took medication that briefly eased her pain. However, she and her husband later noticed she had difficulties speaking, including avoiding conversations and often refusing to talk at all.
“That's when we knew something was wrong,” Slatten said.
What is ALS?
ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is the most common type of Motor Neurone Disease, affecting the brain and spinal cord and impacting movement, speech, and independence.
“We're doing what we can,” Slatten said about managing the condition.
Slatten joined the TLC franchise 90 Day Fiancé in 2019, documenting her relationship with Singh, who is from India. The couple faced numerous challenges, including cultural differences and family opposition, but eventually married.
