Louise Thompson's son hospitalised with bleeding tonsils

Former Made In Chelsea star Louise Thompson has shared the worrying news that her four-year-old son, Leo, has been admitted to hospital.

Leo's Hospital Stay and Health Update

The 35-year-old television personality and columnist posted a photograph from the hospital ward showing her young son with a cannula in his hand. She explained to her followers that Leo was being treated for bleeding tonsils.

In her social media update, Louise expressed relief that her son was responding well to medical care. "Hopefully just a temporary blip," she wrote, while also reaching out to other parents for shared experiences, asking: "Anyone else's child had bleeding tonsils before?"

She went on to praise the medical staff, calling them "angels of our universe," and thanked her extensive online community for their supportive messages during this difficult time.

A History of Traumatic Health Challenges

This latest health scare follows a series of severe medical emergencies for Louise Thompson herself. The birth of her son Leo in 2021 was profoundly traumatic.

During an emergency caesarean, Louise nearly lost her life after haemorrhaging three and a half litres of blood. The situation deteriorated further when she suffered another major haemorrhage at home, resulting in the loss of a further five litres of blood and waking up in intensive care.

Her post-natal complications were extensive, including a post-natal haemorrhage and the development of Asherman’s Syndrome, a condition involving uterine scar tissue. In 2024, Louise also revealed she had a stoma bag fitted after battling agonising ulcerative colitis.

Future Hopes for Family Expansion

This hospitalisation comes just days after Louise opened up about her desire to expand her family with partner Ryan Libbey. Having finally felt ready following the trauma of Leo's birth, she shared her hopes for 2026.

In a Substack post accompanied by a sweet picture of Ryan and Leo, she wrote: "All I want for 2026... Is a baby!" She elaborated, stating the new year would be about "health, growth and prosperity" and that she was "ready for newness and if we are lucky family expansion."

Louise, sister of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! winner Sam Thompson, continues to document her family's journey with remarkable candour, maintaining a strong connection with her 1.5 million followers who she describes as a "brilliant" and "supportive mum following."
