Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert seen with newborn baby

Dancing With The Stars judge Derek Hough and his professional dancer wife, Hayley Erbert, have been seen in public for the first time since becoming parents, radiating joy with their newborn daughter.

A Sunny Stroll for the New Family

The couple, who welcomed their first child—a baby girl named Everley Capri Hough—on December 29, 2025, were photographed enjoying a casual walk in Calabasas, California. Hough, 40, was beaming as he cradled his two-and-a-half-week-old daughter, her tiny feet in white socks peeking out, while Erbert, 31, happily pushed the stroller.

Both new parents looked relaxed and content, clearly embracing their new roles. Hough opted for comfortable tan loungewear and trainers, while Erbert wore a loose denim shirt over a black top with leggings and athletic shoes. The sighting comes after the pair announced their daughter's arrival to the world via a heartfelt Instagram post on January 5.

Hearts "Cracked Wide Open"

In their birth announcement, the couple expressed their overwhelming love and the profound change their daughter has brought. "Every step of our lives has led to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed," they wrote alongside the name Everley Capri Hough.

Hough has since spoken about this transformative period, telling Us Weekly that he feels tremendously thankful for his family's health and this new blessing. "This new year is going to be filled with lots of new experiences and amplified experiences because I think that’s what love does," he reflected, noting how sharing life with a loved one intensifies every moment.

Looking Ahead to a "New Chapter"

The new dad revealed that his desire for fatherhood grew after seeing friends with their own children. Now, following a record-breaking season of Dancing with the Stars in 2025, he and Erbert are prioritising quality time at home with their baby girl.

Professionally, Hough remains committed to his role on the hit show. He expressed openness to judging two seasons per year, praising the show's current energy and format. "I’m down for it... It really feels like an event. This is the must-see fall event," he stated, while clearly savouring his current focus on family life.

For now, the couple appears to have settled seamlessly into parenthood, their first family outing painting a picture of happiness and adjustment to their beautiful new reality.
