A New Sensation on Netflix
The Boroughs has quickly become a hit on the streaming platform, boasting a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and currently holding on to the number 2 spot in Netflix's charts. According to its synopsis, the series is set in the sun-drenched expanse of the New Mexico desert where lies The Boroughs, a picturesque retirement community promising its residents the time of their lives. But for new arrival Sam Cooper, paradise feels more like a prison. Everything changes when a terrifying night time encounter reveals that something monstrous is stalking the manicured cul-de-sacs.
Who Plays the Mother?
There's one question fans have on their minds: who plays the mysterious character referred to as Mother? Without giving too much away, the group of neighbours in The Boroughs come across a strange character during their adventures. While investigating the mysterious goings on, they ultimately discover the primary source behind almost everything. Those that own and run The Boroughs itself refer to her as Mother and have been keeping this being hidden away. However, they fear she is dying and former doctor Walter is the first of the group to be introduced to her. It's not long before the gang decide to break her out to freedom.
According to the cast list on IMDb, Mother is played by Nancy Daly. According to her biography on the same website, she is an American actress who studied her craft in London with extensive experience in theatre. She made her film debut as Jennifer Jason-Leigh's romantic maid, Maureen, in Washington Square released in 1997. Since then she has made several notable appearances in other titles.
