The identity of the mysterious character known as Mother in Netflix's new hit series The Boroughs has been confirmed as American actress Nancy Daly. The show, executive produced by the Duffer brothers of Stranger Things fame, has quickly climbed to number two in Netflix's charts with a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Set in a retirement community in the New Mexico desert, the series follows new arrival Sam Cooper as he discovers something monstrous stalking the manicured streets. Former doctor Walter is the first to meet her, and the group eventually breaks her out to freedom.
According to IMDb, Nancy Daly plays Mother in three episodes. Daly studied acting in London and has extensive theatre experience. Her film debut was as Jennifer Jason Leigh's romantic maid in 1997's Washington Square. She later played a sympathetic nurse to Frances McDormand's Lady Macbeth in Joel Coen's The Tragedy of Macbeth and an annoyed passenger who shushes Brad Pitt in Bullet Train.
Her television credits include New Girl, Criminal Minds, NCIS, Loot, and a role in Prime Video's Ballard spin-off. The Boroughs marks her most prominent TV role to date.
