Wild Anti-Perspirant Shines in 34C Heat, 9-Hour Travel Test

Wild's new roll-on antiperspirant kept beauty writer Eve Rowlands dry and fresh through 34°C heat, nine-hour travel days, and intense workouts, with no white marks or skin irritation. The 90% natural, vegan product offers 72-hour protection from odour and sweat.

Testing in Real Conditions

Rowlands, a senior fashion and beauty writer, tested the product during a heatwave and multiple hikes in Greece, where temperatures reached 34°C. She reported no body odour even after dragging a 20kg suitcase uphill for over nine hours. The antiperspirant also held up during sprints, HIIT sessions, netball matches, and weight training.

Unlike many antiperspirants she had used before, the liquid dried rapidly, leaving no sticky residue or white patches on darker clothing. Her sensitive skin did not react, avoiding the redness caused by other products.

Product Details and Pricing

The antiperspirant comes in a refillable case with various designs, including limited edition prints. Scents include milk & honey, brown sugar & vanilla, pear blossom, fresh cotton & sea salt, and coconut & vanilla. A pack (case and refill) starts at £13.19, with a case alone at £9.99 and a refill at £5.20. Subscriptions are available for refills every 4 to 14 weeks.

Wild markets itself as the UK's No. 1 refillable bathroom brand, aiming to eliminate single-use plastic. The company states: "All our products share a simple premise: they're refillable, to reduce plastic waste. And they're over 90% natural to be good to your skin."

Addressing Aluminium Concerns

Some Trustpilot reviews criticised the antiperspirant's aluminium content, despite the brand's natural image. One user wrote: "I very nearly bought an anti-perspirant that has aluminium in... We come to you for more natural skincare without the harsh chemicals!"

Wild responded: "To clarify, we now offer both deodorant and antiperspirant options because different people have different needs when it comes to sweat and odour control. Our deodorants focus on odour protection, while our antiperspirant is designed for those who also want sweat control. Our antiperspirant is still made with a high natural content, at 90% naturally derived ingredients, and uses a patented anti-sweat technology alongside aluminium salts to help reduce sweat production. These aluminium salts have been used safely and effectively in antiperspirants for over 50 years, and they work by temporarily forming a gel within the sweat gland to reduce the amount of sweat reaching the skin's surface, while also helping to reduce the bacteria that cause odour."

For less active days, Wild also offers an aluminium-free roll-on deodorant. Rowlands concluded that she swears by the antiperspirant to feel confident and fresh all day.
