As temperatures rise, sweaty feet can lead to smelly shoes. Cleaning blogger Lynsey Queen of Clean has shared a simple hack using teabags to absorb moisture and odours.
According to the TV cleaning expert and author, any type of teabag will work, though fruity varieties may add a pleasant scent. Simply place a few teabags inside each shoe and leave them overnight in a warm, dry place. The longer they are left, the better the results.
Posting on Instagram, Lynsey explained: 'Pop a few tea bags inside your smelly shoes to fight off bad odours that are caused by heat and bacteria. Tea bags are super absorbent and will suck the moisture and smell right out.'
The used teabags can also be repurposed for cleaning window marks or fertilising plants. Fans of the trick praised it as a natural alternative to chemical products, with one commenter noting: 'I love all these little tips... going back to the natural cleaning.'
